Since the end of the East-West conflict in 1990, the shape of Europe has changed dramatically. The European Economic Community, which was founded in 1957 by six Member States, has become the European Union with currently 27 members. Europe, which had been divided by the Iron Curtain for decades, has grown completely new in its history.

Sarajevo Office - Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia

The office coordinates the activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia. The focus is on supporting democratic and constitutional reform processes in the region and strengthening civil society.

Moscow Office - Russian Federation

For now, the revocation of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s registration by the Russian Federation marks the end of 30 years of dedicated work in this country.

Founded in 2021, the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Tirana Office, works to build and expand democratic, accessible and diverse public spaces in urban as well as rural areas in Albania.

Our main focus is to boost civil society in Ukraine and Belarus. To achieve this, we offer training programmes and assistance, host public discussion meetings in Ukraine, and promote civil-society organisations and initiatives in Belarus.
