Sophie Ping Sun is an assistant professor at the Department of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese Academy of Social Science. Her research interests are ICTs, new media, and digital labor. In particular, she is interested in how technology and digitalization affect the livelihoods of digital laborers. She believes that digital technology is a double-edged sword that is both inclusive and excluding, and she hopes her research will foster a better society by critically assessing the digital divide and inequality. Sophie currently resides in Beijing, China.
