Shizuka Kuramitsu is a graduate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey with an MA in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies.

Shizuka is a member of #Leaders2Future and #Leaders4Tomorrow programme led by United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs #Youth4Disarmament initiative. Previously, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. She has experience working as a Graduate Professional for the Weapons of Mass Destruction & Space Security Programmes at United Nations Institute for Disarmament and Research in Geneva, as well as interning at United Nations Institute for Training and Research and several nonprofit organizations in Hiroshima and New York.
